Application Process

Submit a completed application form through the True North online system or via email.

Application Forms

Applications must include

• an original and certified copy of your most recent report card/transcripts and original and certified report cards/transcripts from the previous two years (translated into English)
• complete and most recent vaccination records
• a photocopy of your passport
• completed application form
• activity waiver
• if no homestay is required, a homestay waiver form must also be included

Incomplete applications will not be evaluated until all documents are submitted.

A non-refundable Application Fee is also due upon submission.  Please click on the credit card payment link.

The school district will notify students of their acceptance and issue an invoice for program fees (including insurance), plus homestay management fees, custodianship fees (if applicable) and any orientation fees within two business days of receiving the application package.  Homestay fees will also be invoiced if indicated on the application form.

Other important documents such as course planning information will be shared at this time and should be returned to the program completed as soon as possible.

Payment of full fees is required in order to issue a Letter of Acceptance and Custodianship Documents if the program is to act as Custodian.

The school district will act as custodian as long as the student is registered in the Delta School District Homestay Program or is an elementary student living with parents for the duration of their study.

Privately arranged custodians are also acceptable.

When we receive full payment we will:

Issue an official Letter of Acceptance (LOA) that indicates that fees have been paid in full.
Provide the school district notarized custodianship document (where applicable).
Provide a copy of the paid invoice.

For students attending for more than 5 months or who may wish to extend their stay  –

Students will apply to the Canadian Embassy/the Canadian Consulate General/ the Canadian High Commission in the country of residence for a Study Permit and/or Visa to attend school in Canada.

Mandatory documents for student Study Permit/Visa application include:

• The official Letter of Acceptance from Delta School District
• The paid invoice
• The custodianship documents
• Proof of sufficient funds to maintain the student for one year at the scheduled interview appointment
• Canadian Embassies in some countries may require additional information or documentation for Study Permit and/or Visa processing.
• Students may also be required to have a medical examination

For students attending on a short term basis –

Students must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) or a visitors visa depending on the country of origin.
