We greatly value and respect the contributions made by our families and our pleased to offer host families an exceptional level of support both in onboarding new families, as well as supporting host families as they host their students.

Step 3 - Home Visit

Once reviewed, your homestay coordinator will contact you if there is any information that needs to be clarified and will contact you to arrange a home visit where we will review the facilities available for the students and talk in more detail about the program and expectations.  This is also a chance for you and your family to ask us questions about the program as well.

After the home visit, you will be asked to send some pictures of your home to share with students in advance of their arrival when placed with you.

Step 4 - Criminal Record Check

Once your application is approved and you are ready to start hosting, you will be required to complete a criminal record check for all adults aged 19 and older living in your home. There are multiple ways that this can be done.  Options will be provided to you by your homestay coordinator.

Step 5 - Welcoming a Student

Your homestay coordinator will be in touch and will outline the profile of a student who they feel will be a good fit for your home. Once confirmed, we encourage you to be in touch with the student and their family and do at least one Zoom/Teams/Skype call before their arrival.

We provide ongoing support to you in advance of your students arrival and through their stay. Beyond our monthly newsletter and the Zoom sessions we do to support homestay families, please reach out to your coordinator as any questions or issues arise.
