Located in North Delta, Gibson Elementary School staff believe children need a network of support that includes school, home and community working together. Students are prepared for a future in a changing society by providing a positive, safe and caring place of learning with high standards and expectations. Gibson Elementary School fosters the development of personal responsibility by encouraging problem-solving, decision-making, social and communication skills within a climate of mutual respect. Students are encourage to strive to reach their personal best.
Annual school events and activities include the Terry Fox Run, Volleyball and Basketball teams for Grades 6 & 7 students, Hoop Shoot Basketball Challenge (Grades 5-7), Grade 6 & 7 Band, Track & Field (Grades 4-7) and Sports Day. In addition, there are opportunities for intermediate students to develop responsibility by becoming involved in various school jobs such as crossing guard, lunchtime classroom monitor and office monitor.
