Hawthorne Elementary School is located next to a large park in the progressive and convenient suburb of Ladner. The staff at Hawthorne Elementary strong believe in a partnership between families and the school, working together to support students’ learning. They encourage personal and social responsibility and students acting in a safe and respectful manner. Students are encouraged to achieve their personal best by actively participating in a balanced education and thereby making a difference today, for the future tomorrow.
Annual school events and activities include the Terry Fox Run, Volleyball and Basketball teams for Grades 6 & 7 students, Hoop Shoot Basketball Challenge (Grades 5-7), Grade 6 & 7 Band, Track & Field (Grades 4-7) and Sports Day. In addition, there are opportunities for intermediate students to develop responsibility by becoming involved in various school jobs such as crossing guard, lunchtime classroom monitor and office monitor.
